About Marie Philip School:

MPS enrolls nearly 200 deaf and hard of hearing students on our Framingham, MA campus in an ASL/English bilingual, bicultural educational model.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide support by developing and implementing high quality youth athletics and activities programs for TLC. Direct supervision to elementary coaches and student-athletes of elementary after school programs.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee elementary athletics (practices, games and related activities).
  • Maintain, recruit staff for, and market our after school programs schoolwide.
  • Maintain Athletics and ASP attendance records and communications with TLC educational departments.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment by checking clinics, practice and sport events area for safety hazards and report deficiencies to the Athletic Director.
  • Report all accidents/incidents occurring on and off campus to Nursing Department and Athletic Director.
  • Assist Athletic Director in supervising youth program & after school staff, coaches, and officiate as needed.
    Communicate with parents and caregivers about schedule changes and transportation needs.
Requirements:
  • B.A. or B.S. degree in sports, education, childhood development, family studies, or recreation preferred.
  • A minimum of conversational fluency in American Sign Language required, with native, or near-native ASL fluency preferred.
  • Must be able to effectively enforce rules and code of conduct.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • National Federation High School Coach’s Certification, preferred, but not required.
