General Description:

The Advocate Supervisor is a full-time, non-exempt employee. The Advocate Supervisor provides professional staff support to assigned volunteers, ensures that all volunteers are trained and supervised according to standards and policy, and maintains current and accurate records on all cases they are supervising. The Advocate Supervisor represents the agency in a professional, confidential, and positive manner when interacting with all involved.

Qualifications:

Education

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in one of the following or related fields: Psychology, Social Work, Education, or Legal Assistance.
  • Applicable work experience may be substituted for a degree.

Experience

  • Volunteer Management, Teaching, Public Speaking, and working with Non-Profit Organizations preferred.

Skills

  • Strong organizational, verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with different types of personalities.
  • Basic computer skills required.

Accountability:

  • The Advocate Supervisor reports directly to the Program Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support volunteers in their respective role according to the volunteer policies.
  • Ensure monthly contact with volunteers.
  • Maintain documentation and data on current cases and volunteers.
  • Attend court hearings, trials, and case plans as necessary for volunteers or unassigned cases.
  • Schedule coverage if unable to attend hearings or case plans.
  • Organize continuing education for volunteers.
  • Assist with volunteer recruitment, screening, training and recognition as necessary.
  • Assist with statistics for grant reporting as necessary.
  • Complete monthly program reports.
  • Maintain current knowledge of child welfare practices, laws and regulations.
  • Participate in and help facilitate pre-service training for potential volunteers as needed.
  • Become a Certified CASA Trainer within one year of employment.
  • Participate in agency activities as needed; including some evenings and weekends.

General Sign Off:

The employee is expected to adhere to all agency policies and to act as a role model in the adherence to agency policies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.75 per hour
