We’re looking for a candidate who is….
  • Able to assume responsibility for the manufacturing of consumer foods which comply with all food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Able to support our company and site safety policies and perform work related activities in a safe manner. Able to recognize unsafe working conditions, coach peers, and suggest new safety standards as appropriate.
  • Able to perform the necessary activities to operate, maintain and clean production equipment.
  • Able to follows and improve documented operational, maintenance and sanitation standards in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) work environment.
  • Able to perform equipment changeovers and sanitation activities.
  • Able to perform preventative maintenance activities (i.e., lubrication, etc.) and create work orders, in a timely manner to maximize performance of our plant equipment. The ability to improve and modify preventative maintenance activities as appropriate.
  • Able to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical, instrumentation, controls and automation equipment and software.
  • Able to demonstrate proficiency in operation and troubleshooting of the following:
    • Power Distribution
    • Studio5000 or Logix5000 platform hardware and software
    • Drives and Motion Control
    • FactoryTalk ME & SE
    • Ethernet/IP Control Network
    • Food Manufacturing and Utility Instrumentation
    • Maintains and properly operates electrical testing equipment.
    • Utilizes drawings, prints, and instruction manuals to determine proper steps to be taken for equipment preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs.
    • Adheres to company drawing and documentation standards.
  • Able to coach other team members on electrical, instrumentation and controls skills, machine functionality, defect identification and resolution and equipment repair.
  • Able to travel and actively participate in training and qualification programs for designated line/area; able to participate in assessments and ensure effective training and consistent qualification standards are maintained.
  • Able to use continuous improvement tools, including breakdown elimination to eliminate losses and drive issues to root cause. Able to document, communicate and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Able to own one or more technical, safety or quality systems. Able to assume responsibility for building technician skill as well as provide continuous coaching.
  • Able to create documentation as needed (SOPs, Job Aids, PM Improvements, etc.).
  • Able to maintain knowledge/skill/ability by attending technical training sessions, participating in vendor visits and scheduled maintenance activities as well as attainment of expertise in advanced E&I technology (networks, servers, FactoryTalk, Motion Controls, etc.).
  • Able to obtain/maintain maintenance low voltage qualification within twelve months of start date.
  • Able to utilize technology (i.e., computer, etc.) to maintain accurate records and data as well as utilizing the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and online training resources.
  • Able to maintain an accurate electronic database of repair and maintenance activities including parts usage and time tracking.
  • Able to facilitate effective shift pass downs with the prior/next shift to discuss safety, quality, and production issues.
  • Able to lead/manage projects to improve safety, quality, and production results in a designated area.
  • Capability to work independently as well as in a team environment and be willing to help solve problems and implement solution
  • A proven track record of good attendance and consistent performance delivering consistent safety and quality
  • Flexibility with working a 12-hour shift and overtime related to covering down day activities as well as for coverage for outages on other teams
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associates or technical degree or training preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience with electrical systems, PLC, motor and motion controls, SCADA systems, device and information networks, sensors, instrumentation equipment for manufacturing is required.
  • Previous mechanical/maintenance experience preferred.
  • Previous food manufacturing experience preferred.
Expectations:
  • Able to read, understand, and follow documents such as safety policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and general instructions.
  • Working knowledge of general electrical safety.
  • Working knowledge of electrical schematics, power distribution and controls, motor and motor controls, PLC logic controls, HMIs, and other industrial controls.
  • Able to understand and carry out both oral and written instructions.
  • Possess strong communication skills, including the ability to give and receive feedback.
  • Able to provide leadership and prioritization in designated equipment area.
  • Able to set and meet goals.
  • Able to prioritize and manage workload in a changing environment.
  • Works well with support personnel to maintain high standards for safety, quality, and reliability and drive improvements.
  • Able to make data driven decisions and engage others as appropriate.
  • Basic mathematical, statistical, and analytical skills.
  • Able to learn company specific computer systems, including maintenance enterprise system.
  • Physical requirements of the job include the ability to:
    • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
    • Stand, sit, walk, enter confined spaces, push, pull, kneel, squat, and climb
    • Perform repetitive actions, reach, and feel
Vision:
  • Employee is required to have a minimum of 20/40 vision in each eye with or without corrective lenses. The applicant must pass a standard eye exam.
