The Administrative Specialist III provides administrative support functions for nursing and other departments.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Ensures nursing employee time is documented timely and accurately into Kronos software.
  • Actively seeks to assist nursing employees with their timesheets and time-off requests as needed.
  • Reviews and audits employee timesheets, identifies attendance patterns, prepares reports and advises nurse executive.
  • Assists Nursing employees on computers during evaluations, training, open enrollment and other special projects.
This job requires mandatory COVID 19 vaccination or an approved exemption in accordance with CMS-3415- IFC from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. This means if appointed to the position, the applicant must have completed the primary vaccination series for COVID-19, which means the administration of a single- dose vaccine or the administration of all required doses of a multi-dose vaccine upon commencement of employment. The vaccine received must be one of the FDA-approved or FDA-authorized vaccines. Proof of vaccination will be required. If a medical or religious exemption is sought, the candidate must submit paperwork to the employer prior to appointment for review and approval.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
