By joining our Division of Motor Carriers, Tax and Financial Processing Branch as an Administrative Specialist III in Franklin County, you’ll have the opportunity to provide professional support to the division head, office, or unit in the developing, implementing, and maintaining various complex programs, projects, or activities, performs other duties as required.

Holders of the Administrative Specialist III position will complete tasks such as:
  • Accurately calculate and reconcile daily revenue collected
  • Use EMARS accounting system to record and deposit daily revenue
  • Provide customer service to external customer and internal departments
  • Interpret and apply statutes, policies, and procedures to tax and financial processes
Holders of this job title will obtain:
  • Ability to operate various complex systems to view accounts and produce financial reporting
  • Ability to operate the EMARS accounting system
  • Ability to audit reports to identify discrepancies.
  • Ability to properly handle all forms of payments and confidential information

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
