Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Administrative Manager.

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for providing leadership support and overall administrative direction for the Department of Neurology which includes the management of non-physician staff. In conjunction with the leadership of the Medical School and Hospital, develops and implements strategic goals related to management of the department, program development and related issues. Develops and coordinates new programs and oversees their management.


Job Responsibilities:

    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Financial Management Forecasts, prepares, oversees and maintains operating and capital budgets for the Department. Monitors spending for Dept: grants and contracts for the Faculty, Faculty and non-Faculty salaries, increase programs and Dept payroll. Reviews monthly reports and works closely with Faculty and financial analyst to ensure financial compliance of grants and contracts.
    • Grants Management - Prepares grant applications, budget and forms and reviews items for compliance with Federal and sponsor program files and guidelines. Prepares non-scientific portions of the NIH and nongovernmental grants and fellowship applications. Discusses policies with Investigators and Faculty, provides spreadsheets with revised budgets, and summary reports to Chairman. Addresses sponsor issues; governmental, institutional and funding agency regulations, and follows up with Investigators.
    • Coordination of Office, Supervision of Support Staff and Human Resources Oversight - Directly supervises and manages support staff on a day-to-day basis, interviews and hires, evaluates and documents staff performance. Handles, maintains, follows-up and processes all CPP's, Requisitions, time-off, and time sheets; works with HR, Payroll and Immigration Services. Manages all administrative functions, coordinates daily operation, facilitates the communication of any changes to policies and procedures. Responsible for office purchasing; liaisons and facilitates items with SOM IT, MS Financial Services, and Space Planning/Real Estate.
    • Compliance and Policy Development - Monitors compliance with regulatory agency requirements related to the academic, clinical and research needs of the department. Develops a communication plan for new policies and procedures that impact the department which includes methodologies to facilitate compliance. Oversees the preparation of externally and internally mandated reports.
    • Varied Project Work - Works on Departmental review; written narrative, updates charts, figures, accounts with balances, grants, past and present Faculty data. Responsible for Faculty Recruitment, processes RTRF's, offer letters, budgets, tracking, arrangements, maintains records, ensures compliance. Compiles and completes varied survey information for example: NSF, ASMP, LCME; NYUSOM Space Survey, etc. May negotiate minor contracts; participates in intuitional committees, e.g. Tenure, ADA, Dept Space, ACGME, Employee Retention/Satisfaction, etc. Organizes and oversees the Neurology Community. Responsible for the development and maintenance of a Staff Mentoring Program. Oversees quality projects and is responsible for the collection and submission of quality data.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health Administration or related field with a minimum of 3 years of progressive supervisory experience in an academic medical center; or equivalent combination of education and experience


Preferred Qualifications:
Previous management/supervisory experience preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $76,721.84 - $127,869.56 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
