The Administrative Clerk will assist the Admissions, Communications and Inpatient Departments with managing incoming / outgoing telephonic communications. Note: This position will work a Monday through Friday schedule between the hours of either 1:30pm - 9:30pm or 2:00pm - 10:00pm at our Upper St. Clair campus.

Admissions Department Essential Functions:

  • Greet new patients and those transporting them upon arrival and guide them to the Admissions Area.
  • Responsible for clerical duties such as managing paperwork, (i.e. Patient Chart creation), and answering phones / taking messages for Admissions staff.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding patients in facility.

Front Desk (Communications) Essential Functions:

  • Answers incoming calls, screens, and directs calls to hospital personnel, relays messages as appropriate, and gives directions to hospital.
  • Greets visitors to hospital, notifies hospital personnel of arriving visitors or directs them to specific areas of the hospital.
  • Monitors the security and safety of the reception area.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding patients and former patients in facility.

Inpatient Department Essential Functions:

  • Answers incoming calls, and directs calls to hospital personnel, relays messages as appropriate, and gives directions to hospital.
  • Transports Patients through Hospital setting for Visitation.
  • Assists with placing outgoing calls to patient families
  • Assists with Patient Zoom Meetings
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding patients and former patients in facility.
  • May assist with some light clerical duties as needed.

Other Functions:

  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Minimum Required Education/Experience/Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year operating a Multi-line Phone System experience
  • One year Clerical experience preferred
  • Maintains competence in identified universal, core and critical competencies.
  • Must meet job competencies within 90 days of hire.
