Essential Functions
The Administrative Assistant serves as an Executive Assistant to the Dean, and the two Associate Deans, of the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences (CEHHS). This position provides administrative support for the CEHHS shared governance committees, communicates with the shared governance committees, prepares Dean-related correspondence for shared governance. The position also assists with internal facilities scheduling, assists with enrollment documentation tasks, faculty workload documentation, as well as assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Dean’s Office team. The position also helps to facilitate the Dean’s Office electronic files associated with confidential documentation, such as faculty annual reviews and reappointment, promotion, and tenure processes working closely with the Dean and Associate Deans. Other duties, as they may occur, are also assigned by the Dean and Associate Deans.

Work Schedule
8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Additional Duties
Serves as the Executive Assistant to the Dean and Associate Deans of the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences (CEHHS) related to shared governance and related correspondence. These responsibilities include but are not limited to, helping to facilitate shared governance committees reporting, CEHHS committee documentation. Timely, confidential, and focused electronic communication efforts are critical and include: scheduling meetings through shared calendaring, acting as a reporter for designated meetings, monitoring and tracking faculty syllabi, coordinating college elections, and maintaining key Dean’s Office files within a variety of electronic systems.

Maintains extensive and dynamic scheduling for all rooms in Roskens Hall, collaborating with the Registrars Office, CEHHS Administrators, and other campus personnel related to the scheduling of classes or faculty and staff meetings.

Individually assists the Dean or Associate Deans with preparing enrollment reports and helping to enter enrollments into various spreadsheets and/or other campus documents.

Assists with the coordination of documentation related to individual faculty recognitions and support, such as Faculty Development Fellowships, and award nominations.

Provides administrative assistance within the daily operations of the CEHHS Dean’s Office, such as responding to individual inquiries from faculty/students/staff; maintaining filing systems, answering phones, etc. Responsible for working with UNO Facilities on matters related to Roskens Hall. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • HS Diploma
  • 1-2 years of comparable experience OR college degree in related field.
  • Will consider a combination of education and work experience.


Preferred Qualifications
Undergraduate degree, and/or 2-4 years experience.
