General Description of Position:
The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists
students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within
the framework of common syllabi provided by the College of Health Professions and Sciences.

Job Description:
Instruct college students in accordance with educational theories and techniques. Develop
discipline related curricula, assess student learning, participates in program evaluation and
college activities. Maintains college and department standards in support of the University’s
mission and strategic plan.

Adjunct instructors are responsible for course planning and instruction in classroom and lab. In
addition, adjunct faculty are responsible for student evaluation and timely and accurate
submission of required paperwork related to instruction. Opportunities may exist to teach a
flexible schedule that may include teaching assignments during days and evenings.

Work Hours: Work schedule varies according to teaching assignment, class schedule and the
needs of the University and the College.

Transcripts:
Transcripts for Adjunct positions must either be an official copy or a college-stamped student
copy, scanned into an electronic format and attached to the application. Transcripts produced
through web-based student systems will not be accepted. Applications without attached copies
of official transcripts will not be considered.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Anatomy and Physiology or Master’s Degree and
18 graduate semester hours in Anatomy and Physiology or related fields (Biological Science,
Biology, Botany, Ecology, Marine Biology, Medicine, Microbiology, Nutrition, Zoology) OR
advance/doctorate degrees in physical therapy, occupational therapy, chiropractic, dentistry,
medicine/medical science or optometry from a regionally accredited institution with 18
graduate semester hours in human biological sciences.

  • College-level teaching experience
  • Ability to demonstrate the use of technology in the classroom
  • Must be able to use the technology required for the assigned course
  • Coursework within the degree must reflect competencies in the courses to be taught
