Job description

The Activities Coordinator will facilitate, coordinate, and participate in the daily instruction of the individuals Maryhaven supports to ensure meaningful activities. This person will assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality programming to support the program participants and their needs.

Essential Functions:

1. Develop lesson plans and maintain a learning environment within the classroom and during community integration.
2. In absence of Program Manager, an Activities Coordinator may be asked to assist with additional responsibilities.
3. Assist with program re-certification process, through Quality Assurance reviews.
4. Ensures written documentation is of professional quality and is forwarded in a timely manner (i.e., monthly narratives, Behavioral Data, etc.).
5. Candidate to be an active member of crisis/assistance intervention team for all Socially Unacceptable Behaviors warranting assistance.
6. During an emergency closure which may include inclement weather, when the day programs are closed to the individuals, you will be expected to cover in one of the Maryhaven residences. Approval for release from the residence will be granted by site supervisor.
7. Acts as lead in maintaining a daily log of the individual’s activities, records, completed data and any additional paperwork or monthly progress of each individual required by regulations to assure individualized quality programming.

Education and Qualifications:

  • BA in Human Services field OR BA degree (non-Human Services) and 1 year experience working in related field OR Associates Degree in Human Services/or related field and two (2) years’ experience working in related field OR High School Diploma/GED and 2-3 years’ experience working in the Human Services/or related field.
  • Maintains a valid NYS driver’s license within agency criteria.
  • Obtain SCIP-R certification & AMAP certification within three months of employment, annually thereafter.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
