The Position

The Accounting Supervisor reports to the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis and must lead upgrade of the financial and management reporting systems used to run the business efficiently and profitably. Specific responsibilities include:

• Working with the Manager of Financial Planning and CFO planning, developing, organizing, implementing, directing, and evaluating the organization’s financial function.
• Perform all aspects of accounting function, including journal entries, account reconciliations, preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements.
• Preparing budgets by collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data while recommending plans of action.
• Providing status of financial conditions by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data on a monthly basis.
• Achieving budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variance and initiating corrective actions.

Team Development

• Collaborating with all members of the Senior Management and Management teams to function as a cohesive and professional and effective unit.

General Ledger Responsibilities

• Ensuring the preparation and posting all standard journal entries.
• Establishing and maintaining cash controls; reconciling general ledger and bank statements in a timely manner each month.
• Participating in preparation of the annual budget and annual audit processes
• Coordinating the preparation of financial reports on a regular basis, as requested, or required, including but not limited to year-to-date cash flow statements, quarterly reports, monthly financial statements, and balance sheets.
• Maintaining accurate and complete records pertaining to financial systems.
• Maintaining fixed assets inventory and depreciation schedules.
• Analyze and manage unique contract requirements, special provisions, and terms and conditions.
• Coordinating financial statement audit and income tax preparation with external accounting firm.

The Candidate

The right candidate should have at least 8 years of experience in accounting and financial operations. S/he will understand management reporting systems and be very familiar with information systems, contracting, revenue cycle operations, and financial reporting. Experience in a for-profit environment is desirable, and entrepreneurial experience is valued. Previous familiarity with health care and reimbursement is a plus.

Skills Required: Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics, Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially excel.
