KK Integrated Logistics (KKIL) is a private, family-owned business providing commercial real estate and logistics solutions in warehousing, trucking, and port operation (stevedoring). KKIL is a 35-year old company headquartered in Menominee, Michigan with over 4 million square feet of warehousing and related, local trucking operations in Menominee, Michigan; Marinette, Peshtigo, Green Bay, De Pere, Manitowoc, and Neenah, Wisconsin; and Troy, Indiana. We own and operate private ports in Menominee, Michigan and Green Bay, Wisconsin and are the exclusive port managers and operators for privately-owned port locations in Muskegon and Bay City, Michigan. We are currently seeking an Accounting/Payroll Specialist.

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Reconciles various General Ledger accounts and prepares assigned journal entries.
  • Reconciles bank statements.
  • Assist in month end/year end process.
  • Prepare monthly workers compensation calculations and annual audits.
  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll with accuracy, attention to detail and timeliness.
  • Process and verify payroll changes such as salary adjustments, department changes, garnishments, and withholding amounts.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll report filings.
  • Prepare and distribute W-2’s and 1099’s on an annual basis.
  • Process various licenses and permits including, but not limited to IRP, IFTA and HVUT.
  • Assist with changes to commercial insurance policies.
  • Maintain customer/vendor insurance certificates.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • An associate degree in accounting, accounting certificate, or a minimum of three years’ experience is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; appropriate tact and professionalism.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Intermediate/Expert proficiency in Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet, as well as the willingness to learn and use other various internal computer programs.
  • Ability to thrive in a culture of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Flexible attitude that thrives in versatility required.
  • Ability to work autonomously and efficiently with excellent execution skills.
  • Accounts Payable backup.
