VulcanForms Inc. seeks an Accounting Manager for our Devens/Newburyport, MA, location.


Job Purpose

As the Accounting Manager at VulcanForms Inc., you will be in our accounting function and thus have an incredible opportunity to shape our accounting systems and processes. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will have the chance to work with a fast-paced team in a rapidly growing organization. VulcanForms Inc. is a manufacturer of complex, high value engineered components in serial production at the world's most powerful additive foundry.


Key Accountabilities

  • Support the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Taxes.
  • Help in establishing internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
  • Perform the production of periodic financial reports; ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
  • Audit accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, coordinate with outside auditors, and provide needed information for the annual external audit.
  • Work with Accounting team members on various projects.
  • Present to management recommendations on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  • Assess current practices and procedures, as well as make recommendations for improvements.
  • Provides financial analysis emphasizing capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
  • Establish and maintain files and records to document transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Help develop Labor and Burden Rates and support the Inventory Reporting, Analysis, and Reconciliation process.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required
  • At least five years of Accounting experience
  • Familiarity with leading ERP/MRP systems, Epicor preferred
  • Ability to work in a situation requiring attention to detail, coupled with a high level of multitasking and prioritization needed to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite required

Preferred

  • CPA and or CMA desirable
  • A master's degree in Accounting or Business preferred
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment
  • Public Accounting experience
  • Strong sense of ownership
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated, hands-on, practical mindset, and capable of setting and reaching ambitious goals
