Job Description:

Homie is looking for an accounting manager with the desire to learn and problem solve. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced accounting professional that wants to learn more about disruption in the real estate, title, and mortgage industries and enjoys supporting coworkers and leadership. Homie offers the chance to work within a tech startup and offers career growth opportunities. This role supports all departments of operations and reports to the Controller.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day functions and staff of the Accounts Receivable and Payable department
  • Responsible for monthly journal entries
  • Performs monthly reconciliations for monthly close
  • Lead a team to manage the month and year-end close process
  • Assist with the preparation of support for the annual financial statement audit and preparation of audited financial statements
  • Prepare monthly sales commission reports and payments
  • Manage all special accounting projects
  • Maintain systems and controls that ensure the integrity of the accounting system
  • Gather accounting/HR mail from the South Jordan office three times a week

Job Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Proficiency with Google Docs, Sheets, Slides.
  • Knowledge of NetSuite
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills, including the use of VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to conduct duties with minimal direction
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
