Position


REPORTS TO: School Business Administrator and/or Designee

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide general accounting support to the assigned schools/departments assisting
with any and/or all budget preparation, school-based transfers, account code issues,
etc.

2. Responsible for the preparation of the end of year expenditure reports for audit for all
schools/departments

3. Review monthly budget reports and prepares necessary adjustments and corrective
entries

4. Analyze, review and maintain general ledger accounts for the assigned
schools/departments

5. Prepare interim/year end reports for audit and external agencies
6. Maintain ongoing review of all internal controls as they relate to assigned duties
7. Prepares all necessary financial statements associated with the above duties
8. Prepare monthly budget reports
9. Assists the auditors to review and respond to audit recommendations
10. Performs any and all such other duties as may from time to time be assigned
11. Must be able to perform all of the essential functions of the job with reasonable

accommodations, if necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
2. Evidence of the ability and/or on-the-job training in the areas of responsibility
3. Evidence of 3-5 years of satisfactory experience in areas, which would indicate the

ability to perform, listed duties
4. Demonstrated ability to perform all responsibilities listed in job description in a

satisfactory manner
5. Evidence of satisfactory interpersonal skills
6. Such alternatives to the above as the Board of Education may deem appropriate and

acceptable.
7. Required criminal history background check and eligibility to work in the United States
8. All applicants must meet NJ Residency requirements as per “New Jersey First Act,” ,

N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70)



9. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily.

2) An oral interview to determine an applicant’s personal qualifications and aptitude for the

position, as required
3) The appointment of a person to the position advertised is the responsibility of the Board

of Education and will be made in compliance with Board policies related to the
appointment of professional staff



TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve -month work year
