Job Summary and Opportunity:
Axos Bank is seeking a Accountant II in the San Diego area to join our team. The ideal candidate will largely be responsible Daily accounting, month-end close, and analysis for loan accounting and CECL.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for maintaining loan subledgers, general ledgers and all related procedures
  • Prepare audit schedules related to loans
  • Prepare Call report and Y9C schedules
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, and process documents
  • Prepare journal entries to properly account for general ledger activity
  • Analyze and document financial statement variances monthly, quarterly, and yearly
  • Prepare reconciliations for miscellaneous general ledger accounts and roll-forward schedules
  • Act as super-user for ERP, financial and banking systems
  • Assist in implementation, integration, and automation of financial applications
  • Prepare information and documents for internal auditors, external auditors, and regulators
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years' in Accounting
  • Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
  • Highly proactive in resolving issues, ability to learn independently, detail oriented and organized
  • Proficiency with use of e-mail, Internet, database, process mapping and presentation software
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, V-lookups, sum ifs and data manipulation
  • Ability to analyze current processes and identify areas for process improvement
  • Understanding of GAAP
  • Understanding of SOX controls, documentation and implementation

A targeted annual base salary or hourly range of USD $63,000/Yr. - USD $67,000/Yr., based on the experience, skills, and education/certification required for this position. Eligibility for a discretionary semi-annual incentive compensation plan, based upon performance, payable in cash and/or share grants (RSU’s) that may vest over time. The annual discretionary target bonus percentage is 20%.
