We are a growing full-service accounting firm located in Melville, NY providing quality accounting and consulting services to small- and medium-sized businesses.
We are currently seeking an experienced part-time US-based accountant to join our growing team. The position has the potential to become full time. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain books for various business types using QuickBooks and other accounting software. This would include:
- reconciling banking and credit card information
- ability to integrate 3rd party software with QuickBooks
- A/R, A/P and journal entries
- Preparation of financials, cash flows, and management reports using QuickBooks.
- Monitor cash flow.
- Preparation of supporting schedules and workpapers for month end closing.
- Preparation of 1099’s and sales tax filings.
- Reconciliation of payroll taxes prepared by 3rd party vendor (such as Paychex).
- Ability to perform special projects.
- Support accounting staff.
Qualifications
- Extensive QuickBooks experience. Xero knowledge a plus.
- QBO certified Pro Advisor
- Excellent organization, communication and writing skills.
- Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Detail-oriented.
- Must have ability to prioritize and manage time.
- High school education required, Bachelor’s degree a plus, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting a plus.
