Please note this role is hybrid (remote w/ the ability to work out of the HQ office in Renton, WA at least 2 days per week + travel to tradeshows throughout the year).

The Account Executive drives new business and support sales goals. This individual:

  • Meets annual financial targets by identifying, qualifying, and selling services to prospective customers.
  • Successfully identifies and shapes customer needs and solutions.
  • Develops and executes a winning pursuit strategy.
  • Successfully navigates complex selling environments to build relationships and solicits new business.

Roles and Responsibilities:


The responsibilities of the Account Executive role are as follows:

  • Drives new business and supports sales goals within your region.
  • Builds relationships with prospects, customers, and industry partners.
  • Develops an understanding of consultative sales tailored to the utility and energy industry primarily and other similar industries.
  • Uses communication skills and industry knowledge to give an effective presentation of Mosaic's capabilities to prospective clients.
  • Conducts business conversations with decision-makers and makes recommendations to prospective clients about various Mosaic services.
  • Maintains a pipeline of qualified leads through referrals, industry event follow-up, selective cold calling, email campaigns, and networking.
  • Assists in the implementation of Mosaic marketing plans, as needed.
  • Assists in the development of proposals, presentations, and request-for-proposal (RFP) responses.
  • Participates as part of the Mosaic team at conferences and events.
  • Assists with tradeshow logistics, including setting up and tearing down booth and table-top exhibits.
  • Proactively establishes and maintains effective working team relationships with all support departments.
  • Completes related duties, including but not limited to:

  • Maintaining records in Salesforce.
  • Providing support for marketing events and campaigns.
  • Assisting with Mosaic newsletter contributions, as needed.
  • Providing research support, as needed.
  • Managing memberships and subscriptions vital to Client Development & Marketing.
  • Adhering to all company policies and procedures while maintaining professional relationships,

both internal and external that meet company core values.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience selling services.
  • A firm understanding of the energy and utility sector preferred.
  • Strong business writing skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Salesforce.
  • Experience with email and cold-call sales tactics.

Work Environment: Work environment can vary greatly depending on events and location. Reliable transportation to and from headquarters is required. Travel will be required depending on events, tradeshows, etc. This role is hybrid, remote with in office days for meetings, trainings, etc.

The compensation range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making hiring and compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to candidate skill set, consulting experience, training and education, competencies, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Mosaic strives to set salaries at, or near the 50th percentile (midpoint) of the range and it is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the range for the position. Total compensation for the Account Executive position includes a base salary and performance bonus program for new business generation. A reasonable salary estimate for this position is $85,000 to $100,000 annually. The performance bonus is based on achieving new business generation milestones set annually and can vary greatly based on employee performance. A conservative estimate for the annual new business generation performance bonus is $0 - $30,000 but highly dependent on new business generation.
