2nd Shift Production Operator

American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 450+ employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the 2nd Shift Production Operator role in our Pella, IA facility.

JOB SUMMARY

The Production Employee is responsible for working in a safe, efficient manner to maximize hands-on production and shipping of products and raw material.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• PRODUCTION
• Operate baling machinery
• Palletize product
• Perform various housekeeping duties
• SAFETY
• Exercise caution in the production area due to mobile equipment moving the finished product out of the production area
• Attend monthly safety meetings
• Attend safety trainings as needed and complete required testing with sufficient results

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Physical capability to bend, squat, or stoop
• Previous mobile equipment and/or forklift preferred

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work in varying temperatures within the production area (can range from 55-100 degrees, depending on the time of year)
• Be able to climb stairs and/or ladder to the stacking station areas
• Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly
• Candidate MUST be able to work in a smoke-free environment

Manufacturing: 1 Year (Preferred)

COMPENSATION

Starting: $17.90 per hour
