SUMMARY: This position is responsible for both production floor functionality as well as systematic knowledge and transactions. This role serves as a liaison between Sales, Production and Scheduling. The Operations Administrator will be an individual that is capable of multi-tasking and continuously striving for an optimal outcome for UA, it s employees and its customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Has a thorough working knowledge of all UA work centers including machinery, processes, safety, material handling and computer related transactions.
  • Suggests ideas for continual improvements for all areas related to production
  • Coordinate operations and training within or between departments and shifts
  • Assists Supervisors/Managers in ensuring product is correctly processed through each required operation on time and with superior quality.
  • Work directly with Operations Supervisors to maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process and adjusting where needed to ensure UA maintains OTD of 95% or higher, efficiency in each work center of 95% or higher and no past due rolling hours.
  • Able to flex shifts and change work schedule when required or as requested
  • Maintain positive relationships with all executive staff, managers, supervisors and employees
  • Acts as an intermediary between Sales/Scheduling and Production
  • Understands UA s methods for scheduling work and prioritizing
  • Is able to assist with kitting functionality and analyzing kit status reporting
  • Maintain organization of work area
  • Challenges the status quo by developing and recommending modification to existing processes and methodologies with a constant focus on continuous improvement
  • Understands and supports all company policies and procedures
  • Follow safe manufacturing practices and promotes a safety culture
  • Lead by example and acts in a professional manner at all times
  • Other duties as assigned or requested

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required – Associate Degree or Bachelor s Degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of related production leadership experience – metal fabrication concepts and processes exposure a plus
  • Ability to effectively communicate through written and oral communication
  • Broad knowledge of general manufacturing processes and systems
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for report writing and interactions with diverse groups of people
  • Demonstrated proficiency with PC software (MS Office, Spreadsheets, Crystal Reports) and ERP systems
  • Detail oriented with solid analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid decision-making skills
