Laser, Press Brake, and Deburr Operator

Location: Hartland, WI

Hours: 2nd shift Monday - Friday 2PM-12:30AM

Position Overview: Main focus of this position will be to produce a variety of flat and formed parts, all of which must meet the dimensional specifications of the engineered drawing. Requires basic understanding of sheet metal fabrication and the ability to operate an Amada laser, manually program and form simple bends and deburr parts

The Laser Operator will:

  • Choose correct material and program
  • Understand and troubleshoot poor cutting conditions and equipment alarms
  • Sort, store and put away raw material using forklift and overhead crane
  • Shake out completed parts from the laser and move to next step in the routing
  • Communicate with programmer and engineering department daily
  • Perform preventative maintenance and keep area clean

The Press Brake Operator will:

  • Select proper dies based on material types and thickness
  • Determine if tools are undamaged and in safe condition to use
  • Perform the set-up of tooling and retrieve preprogrammed machine instructions, making modifications as necessary
  • Perform prescribed preventative maintenance as required
  • Refine processes to improve quality and reduce cycle time
  • Work with engineering group on parts that need attention

Deburr Operator will:

  • Use manual deburring equipment to remove burr and provide quality part to customers
  • Operate automatic deburring equipment to remove burr
  • Follow direction from Fabrication Lead Person

This will be a fast-paced environment with rapid changing priorities. This position will also be very active and will require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching throughout the day.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must possess a High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience with press brake set-up and orientation
  • Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to read blueprints and use of measuring equipment (caliper, tape measure, micrometer, etc.) is a must
  • This candidate must also have mathematical conversion skills (fractions and decimals)
  • This person must display initiative, be detail oriented, have a positive attitude, be dependable, have safe working habits and have a good overall attendance record
  • Candidate must be reliable and a strong team member
