Hood Container Corporation (HCC) is seeking a dynamic leader and change agent to join our team as a 1st shift Production Supervisor in our Simpsonville, SC plant (Greenville, SC).

This role is responsible for managing plant employees to meet manufacturing and production schedules, providing overall direction to production floor employees, including production, scheduling, performance management, training, and other related areas, and striving to improve overall operational efficiencies during the designated shift. Coordinating production operations and maintaining effective quality procedures and safety regulations for the facility.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Develops short and long-term courses of action that support the organization's overall vision and mission; balances business, technical, and operational issues when determining a strategy; identifies problems with current strategies and suggests ways to resolve them
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the shift with a constant emphasis on safety, quality, waste, delivery, and cost.
  • Manage, Train and Develop unskilled labor into skilled operators
  • Change Agent and process driven
  • Motivate employees to keep operations running smoothly and safely.
  • Maintain agility, flexibility, and a willingness to modify one’s approach to achieve desired results; responds quickly to changing demands, processes, and updated information.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and enforce control procedures, recommending improvements to the Plant Manager, as appropriate.
  • Plan, assign and direct work for all hourly production employees; appraise performance and provide feedback as needed; assist in resolving complaints; hold employees accountable as needed; communicate issues and results on a daily basis.

What it takes:

  • Required: High School diploma, College Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years in a leadership role with Converting/ Corrugator experience
  • Must be able to work high temperature & humidity conditions while wearing proper PPE including, but not limited to, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and safety glasses
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment to include 10 to 12 hr days including weekends depending on business needs
