WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW The American Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) Youth Specialist to support youth and young adult volunteer opportunities in the region, including Red Cross Clubs. This is a temporary position with anticipated dates of May-September 2023.
WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD
Scope: Learning aspects of the job. Assignments are received in task- oriented terms. Contacts primarily within immediate work unit.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Qualifications:
Education: High School or equivalent required.
Experience: Up to 1 year related experience
Management Experience: N/A
Skills & Abilities: Good verbal and written communication skills. Basic knowledge of personal computer use, Microsoft Office Suite, use of office equipment. Standard typing skills required. Ability to work on a team.
Travel: required within region
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic). The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.

- Support and facilitate SEPA's 2023 Red Cross Club Conference
- Participate in conference planning meetings, including providing input on conference format and agenda
- Manage conference registration and communications
- Attend and help facilitate the conference
- Organize and attend in-person or virtual meetings with each of SEPA's Red Cross Clubs, in collaboration with Red Cross Club Coordinators and Youth Engagement Lead
- Participate in monthly National Youth Consortium Calls
- Participate in weekly meetings with SEPA's Youth Engagement Lead and Senior Volunteer Engagement Specialists
- Participate in weekly SEPA Volunteer Services meetings
- Support SEPA's biweekly "Youth and Young Adult Happenings" email messages
- Support regional youth- and Club-related data management in Volunteer Connection, including club registrations, rosters, and volunteer hours
