About Youth Center
The Youth Center provides a space for youth to build connections, explore and understand their community, and to put leadership skills into action. Through year-round programming centered on leadership development, education, and workforce readiness in Boston and Quincy, BCNC supports youth to thrive in school and beyond.
About The Role
BCNC YC's Summer Youth Employment Program (SEP) is looking to hire Youth Leader at age between 14-18 in summer 2023. The program is to provide youth with workforce skills, practical experience, and the opportunity to have meaningful impact with various departments of the organization. This position’s pay rate is $15.00 per hour with 25 hours per week, and no more than 175 hours in total.
What You Will Do – If hired you will be placed in one of the following departments at BCNC
Pao Arts Center
  • As an Arts Assistant you will be assisting in day-to-day operations of the Pao Arts Center, coordinate tours and gallery visits.
  • Assist in implementation of Pao Arts activity for the community.
Youth Center
  • You will co-develop arts, recreational, and educational activities for peers.
  • Assist in day-to-day operations of the Youth Center.
  • Create an end of summer group project for community showcase.
Buildings Operations
  • Assist with front desk assistant and data entry.
Acorn Center Early Education & Care
  • Childcare Assistant assist Group Leaders in implementation of age-appropriate activities for children.
Red Oak Afterschool & Summer Program
  • Help with classroom management, assist in chaperoning field trips.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
What You Will Do:

What We Look For:
  • Responsible, punctual, know how to manage their time appropriately.
  • An interest in helping the community.
  • Interest in the arts.
  • Childcare Assistant must be interest in working with young children in a classroom setting.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed primarily in a standard work environment, including the operation of computer equipment, and physical demands associated with a traditional work setting, e.g., walking, standing, communicating, and other physical functions, as necessary.
