Position Summary

This position will support the LMTS (Last Mile Tire System) Operations manager in the launch of a new, first of its kind tire program developed to improve the efficiency and sustainability of last-mile, package delivery fleets.

The LMTS Yard Manager will be traveling to different terminal locations in their assigned metro area to perform yard checks. Yard checks include measuring and capturing tire treadwear in Bridgestone’s tire management software, providing customer and dealer support as needed, and general operational management.

Due to the start-up nature of this program, the candidate must be comfortable with change and have a flexible, solutions-driven mindset. The role will report directly to the LMTS Operations Manager and support the assigned metro area.


Responsibilities

  • Identify and correct more complex problems associated with product use in the field.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new products or solutions that will meet customer needs.
  • Develop on-going relationships with customers to secure future business.
  • May resolve/troubleshoot implementation problems and/or train customers on the features of the products or solutions they have purchased.
  • Yard checks at multiple metro terminal locations including:
    • Manually capturing weekly tread depth measurements for all fleets on LMTS program
    • Interfacing with Bridgestone’s tire management software
    • Treadwear evaluation
    • Liaison between fleet, dealer, Bridgestone territory manager, and core LMTS team for ongoing service optimization
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Support core team during new fleet onboarding
    • Collaborate with other LMTS team members and recommend program improvements
    • Support core team with new technology integration

Minimum Qualifications

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in field operations, or related field
  • Experience in tire industry preferred, but not required
  • Experience with customer service
  • Candidate should be willing to and capable of bending, crawling, and accessing tight spaces in order to reach tires mounted on trucks.
  • Must have flexibility to work either early morning and/or early evening hours on days requiring tread measurements.
  • Must be comfortable with technology and interfacing with multiple software applications
  • Candidate must be a self-starter and capable of scheduling yard visits in coordination with fleet owners; hours may vary considerably from day-to-day so flexibility and a “get it done” attitude will be required to be successful
