Responsibilities:

  • Play an integral role in all day-to-day technical design of the ready-to wear collection.
  • Reporting directly to the Director of Technical design.
  • S/he works cross functionally with design, production, pattern making, and fabric teams.
  • Work with design and head of tech to choose reference pattern and fit with complete specification for initial development through production approval.
  • Responsible for the fit of the production and the consistency of fit for woven, leather and cut/sew categories.
  • Assure fit consistency in repeat and core styles as well as within the fit guides.
  • Work on all classifications.
  • Work on more than one brand if needed.
  • Maintain technical packages with all updates, graded specs, fit photos.
  • Communicate with cross functional teams and vendors through all phases of production and manage their expectations with detail, follow up and professionalism.
  • Monitor and coach factories for the highest level of quality.
  • Partners with Production counterparts on tracking and arrival of all fit samples and PP samples.
  • Prepare for fittings by meticulously measuring and comparing the sample to the required specs and construction.
  • Conduct fit sessions for prototype through stock fit samples according to our standards and fit guides.
  • Record fit notes and notify departments such as Production regarding changes to the styles made during fittings.
  • Review pattern samples to ensure balance and standard markings are correct; update tech packs with fit corrections and explain changes to vendors and overseas offices.
  • Adjust patterns as needed.
  • Catalogue and organize patterns made at factories.
  • Responsible for making sure your styles are handled within the time in action calendar.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • College degree in patternmaking or technical design or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years experience related to technical design, preferably with a designer brand
  • Knowledge of PDM systems as well as excellent general computer skills required.
  • Knowledge of WFX, Ilustrator a plus
  • Thorough understanding of pattern-making process and fit and styling on a live model.
  • Knowledge of Gerber a plus
  • Understanding of the creative design process.
  • S/he will have a strong work ethic commingled with an understanding of our client’s aesthetic and quality level.
  • Loyal and positive attitude and has the ability to integrate smoothly into the existing Technical Design Team
  • Highly organized and very detail oriented.
  • Quick-moving and quick-thinking, able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent people skills, and able to work in familial environment and integrate well with existing office employees
  • Must be a team player, willing to share ideas and take over or delegate responsibilities to other team members as the situation requires
  • Must be able to start immediately ; Must work in the office at least 3 days per week for now; When company policy changes at anytime in the future to fulltime in house, must be prepared to do so.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
