Summit Achievement of Stow, ME is a nationally recognized residential outdoor behavioral healthcare program, combining therapeutic wilderness programming and tailored academics to better serve adolescents with mild to moderate social, emotional and educational issues.

Position: Backcountry Wilderness Instructor

Location: THIS POSITION IS IN STOW, MAINE

Pay Rate: Up to $260/day (Depending on Qualifications)

Schedule: One week on, One week off.

Duties:

Backcountry Wilderness Instructors are experienced outdoor leaders that are responsible for providing supervision, guidance and instruction to a small group of adolescents with mild to moderate social, emotional, and educational challenges.

· Leading 4-season back-country expeditions.

· Facilitating daily activities.

· Facilitating group processing sessions.

· Working as a member of a team.

· Serving as liaison to the Clinical and Medical team and participating in weekly treatment team meetings to review each student’s treatment and educational progress.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school (preferred).
  • Experience working with children / adolescents (preferred).
  • Experience in Backcountry Backpacking & Winter Camping.
  • Must have patience, and a strong desire to work with adolescents.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
