National Fuel has an immediate, full-time opening for a Welder in our Operations Department at our Mineral Springs Service Center located in West Seneca, NY. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must pass the qualifying tests under the API Standard 1104 within two months of employment
  • Required to make acceptable welds in any position using qualified procedures, prescribed techniques and welding equipment
  • Must be able to work from shop prints and sketches, weld on pipelines containing gas, and perform all cutting operations with a torch
  • The successful candidate will be expected to become a qualified National Fuel Gas Steel Inspector, and obtain an AWS CWI as well as an API 1169 Pipeline Inspector certification. As a qualified National Fuel Gas Steel Inspector, the candidate will be expected to travel, and be out of town for extended periods of time

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent PLUS five years’ experience in welding/fabrication
  • Preference will be given to candidates with college credits
  • Candidate must be able to weld both uphill and downhill using the SMAW process on carbon steel pipe, and must be able to fabricate small and large piping spools with radiographic quality

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with other welding processes (GMAW, FCAW), and working on pipelines with in-service welding is highly desirable

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This is a position within the Company’s collective bargaining unit with a starting hourly rate of $39.20/hr, after 6 mos $40.20/hr, and an increase to $42.02/hr after a year.
