Want a stable career with potential for growth but don't have experience supporting people with developmental disabilities? You will receive classroom and on-the-job instruction, learning valuable skills from Benedictine's most knowledgeable staff. Direct Support Professionals support and provide direction to children and adults with developmental disabilities, assisting them with daily living skills and during recreational activities.

Sound interesting? Here are the primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Assists adults/students maintain high standards of personal hygiene, participate in recreation/leisure activities and support with activities of daily living
  • Counsels/teaches adults/students with IP/IEP goals and objectives
  • May administer medical and first aid. Keeps medication charts according to delegating nurse instructions.
  • Counsels adults in keeping close relationships with family and identifying and resolving social or other problems
  • Maintains individual logs, progress notes and all other documentation as required.
  • Records adult/students’ activities and behaviors in daily log books, if applicable. Write incident reports and collect required data for all programs and any necessary charting.
  • Attends mandatory meetings and maintain job-specific certifications and licenses including CPR/FA, Med Tech, and RCYCP.
  • Cooperates with Benedictine administration and in-state/out-of-state agencies in any inspection or investigation
  • Other duties, as assigned.

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.50 per hour
