POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Specialist ll.The Warehouse Specialist ll is responsible for performing ensure that the daily functions and procedures of the distribution centers for manufacturers and retailers run smoothly and efficiently, and related duties as assigned. This FULL TIME position starts at $20.00 per hour and is located in Mitchells, VA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receiving, shipping, issuing, selecting, inventorying, ordering, and storing supplies, merchandise and equipment in an agency warehouse or storeroom.
  • May serve as a lead worker.
  • Loading and unloading items to a more specialized function, such as storing and shipping controlled substances
  • Ensure items are accurately received, stored, inventoried and shipped according to procedures.
  • Resolves routine questions and problems, but refers complex issues to higher levels.
  • Works under direct supervision and selects from a variety of established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Receiving packages from delivery services, shipping outgoing packages from all departments, issuing goods to all departments, inventorying stock on hand on a monthly basis
  • May be responsible for providing leadership to others.
  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
  • Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars as assigned.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures, to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Efficiently performs duties as assigned and works as a team within division and company.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills within the English language.
  • Proven, high quality customer service (internal and external customers).
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Solid ability to analyze situations carefully and adopt appropriate courses of action.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to the duties, methods, and procedures required by the position.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to large and small group audiences.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Knowledge of storage/ handling techniques and safety regulations.
  • Skill in operating equipment, such as forklifts, pallet drivers, and hand carts.
  • Must have valid drivers license
  • Must be able to use a computer to read daily mail and print off daily orders from departments

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 25-50 pounds at times.
  • Standard hours of work Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm.
  • Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
