Summary
This is a dual-purpose position where the primary role is identified at time of hire, while cross-training in both area of responsibilities to perform back up duties in each area. The Shipping and Loading position will load and ship Framing & Finish Pack shipments. The Warehouse position will receive inventory, manage inventory accuracy, and pick and load Finish pack shipments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Warehouse
  • Compare identifying information, count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Determine method of shipment and affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
  • Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers and insert items into containers, nails or binds covers. Stamp identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
  • Post weights and shipping charges and affix postage. Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Unload materials from trucks, dry vans, flat bed, rail cars, etc.
  • Deliver product from warehouse to either production lines or loading area.
  • Manage and audit inventory accuracy through monitoring of daily warehouse activities, cycle counts, spot checks. Maintain accuracy at all levels.
  • Enter receipts and other data into plant ERP system.
  • Establish, maintain, and promote high standards of customer service.
  • Enforce return policies to reduce scrap materials.
  • Responsible for Framing pack shipping and loading function.
  • Responsible for receiving, quality checking and verifying accuracy of all products and proper storage of material.
  • Collaborate with production lines, managers and purchasing department to ensure system accuracy.
  • Crosstrain in loading, picking, restocking, and receiving as needed.

Shipping and Loading
  • Establish, maintain, and promote high standards of customer service.
  • Responsible for Framing (A-pack) and Finish (B-Pack) picking and shipping function including the A-pack loading function.
  • Responsible for receiving accuracy of all products and proper storage of material.
  • High level of warehouse and product knowledge in warehouse and receiving functions including required documentation/paperwork, computer skills and company inventory system.
  • All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Forklift operator license strongly preferred (may be certified through Wausau Homes after hire)
  • Ability to operate over-head crane
  • Ability to diagnose and correct errors in a timely manner
  • Computer skills – Microsoft suite
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Strong communication skills
  • Flexibility and dependability
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High level of warehouse and product knowledge and receiving functions including but not limited to required documentation/paperwork, and inventory system.
  • High level of working knowledge in loading and shipping functions a plus

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior shipping/receiving or warehouse experience required
  • Prior forklift experience preferred

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud; this position involves working in an indoor construction environment with running equipment.
