Haverford College invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Music to begin Fall 2023.

The Haverford College Department of Music seeks a full-time one-year sabbatical replacement for Choral and Vocal Studies, beginning July 1, 2023. The teaching load for this position is two choral ensembles per semester and one additional course in either the spring or the fall, plus supervision of four private vocal studios and senior project advising.

The Department of Music consists of six full-time faculty members as well as a number of Affiliate Artists who maintain studios for vocal, instrumental, or keyboard private instruction. Haverford’s music faculty also serve Bryn Mawr College students through the Bi-College Partnership; a large percentage of students in classes and ensembles are from Bryn Mawr.

We are seeking a choral specialist who is familiar with the liberal arts tradition and is experienced working with students of diverse backgrounds and interests. In addition to applicants with a Ph.D. or D.M.A., candidates with ABD designation will also be considered.

Three letters of recommendation will be required at a later date. The cover letter should address the candidate’s commitment to DEI principles.
