Charter Oak Health Center is seeking employment of a Vice President of Nursing who is eager to work in a diverse environment. Position Summary:
The Vice President of Nursing (VPN) will have primary responsibility for overseeing safe, effective patient care as they lead and structure the exceptional patient experience journey as well as the financial and operating performance of the Federally Qualified Health Center (“FQHC”).
This position is responsible for oversight of the planning and management of care delivered by nurses, medical assistants, case managers and community health workers (CHW). The VPN primary responsibilities are to ensure: (1) care provided is safe, effective, timely, patient-centered, efficient and equitable; (2) areas are appropriately staffed with fully competent and qualified nurses and clinical staff; (3) the on-going competency levels of nurses and other caregivers is assessed and maintained to the highest standards; and (4) care that is provided to patients across all departments is coordinated and seamless.
As a member of the senior leadership team, and in partnership with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), VPN will provide oversight for quality and regulatory compliance with a key focus to drive toward better clinical integration and patient outcomes. Additionally, success will be found in a dynamic and strategic leader who will be highly engaged with COHC’s clinical staff. The VPN will interact regularly with the CMO and other executive leaders to advance patient care, leverage our skill and scale and to promote appropriate standardization of healthcare at COHC.
Professional Experience/Educational Requirements:
  • Required MSN, MPH or an advanced degree in nursing, public health or related field.
  • Experience in Health Care Management with a minimum of three years of supervisory experience.
  • Current and active license.
  • Five plus years of experience.
Certification/Licensure:
  • Must be licensed in the state of CT
