We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Assistant who is interested in providing outstanding health care for our patients. Multi-tasking and accepting constructive criticism is essential. Punctuality is a must. Our Veterinary Technicians & Assistants support our Veterinarians, advocating for our patients by educating clients on all aspects of pet health.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist Veterinarians in patient care and medical treatments, including but not limited to, medication administration, vaccine administration, acquiring laboratory samples, processing in-house and reference lab samples, anesthesia monitoring, surgical preparation, hospitalized patient care, critical/emergency care and triage
* Check in clients, take medical history, obtain patient vital signs
* Able to work patiently with clients and patients in varying emotional states
* Greet clients and pets by name immediately upon arrival
* Answer and address phone calls in a quick and professional manner; schedule appointments
* Field questions and inquiries about services and products
* Provide knowledgeable advice concerning the care and treatment of animals
* Follow established hospital policies and procedures when handling client concerns and complaints
* Have a working knowledge of various pharmaceuticals, their usages, dosages, and side effects
* Fill prescriptions per veterinarian’s orders
* Client education, including but not limited to, preventative care, dental care, and pre- and post-surgical care
* Assist in cleaning the hospital as needed, including but not limited to, keeping reception area and lobby clean and sanitary, taking out trash and recycling, laundry, cleaning floors, bathrooms, exam rooms, kitchen, and kennels, if needed
* Relay appropriate information to/from clients to doctors and/or management
* Maintain positive, cooperative relationships with other employees
* Computer skills: Word processing, email, web search, and other skills needed to effectively use the practice management software program
* Perform other duties assigned including assisting in other areas

Qualifications:
* Associates in Veterinary Technology or equivalent RVT training program preferred but not required
* High school Diploma or G.E.D. required
* At least 1 year experience working in a veterinary hospital
* Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds
* Basic math and writing skills
* Must be available to work evenings during the week and Saturdays

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
