Full-time, Non-Exempt

Pay Range: $18.15/hr - $21.78/hr DOQ

This is skilled work in the maintenance, construction and repair of city utility mains and facilities. The employee in this class participates in a variety of tasks in connection with construction, maintenance and repair of the City of Mount Dora waste water collections system. Assignments are received in either written or oral form. Work is performed under the general supervision of a supervisor and is checked in progress and upon completion. Sets up and leads in laying sewer lines, operates and cleans lift stations, checks manholes, digs and backfills ditches. May assist under the Distribution Supervisor in laying water mains, setting fire hydrants, making taps for service connections, setting meters, and construction of meter boxes as needed. Works in conjunction with city staff on electrical/SCADA repairs.

Qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Minimum of 3 years of experience with the utility in the construction, repair and maintenance of utilities distribution. As well as supervisory experience in the collection/lift station fields. Must have valid Florida Commercial B Driver s License. Must have a FWPCA or equivalent class C waste water collections certification. Must have and maintain a current MOT certification. Must be trained and have time and experience in advanced backhoe operations. Must hold First Aid and CPR training. Complete the required National Incident Management System (NIMS) training within 6 months of completion of probationary period.
