We are seeking a Systems Engineer w DoD Domain Experience to provide hands on, strategic guidance, and experimentation support to the US Army at Aberdeen, MD. Ideal candidates will have technical expertise in one or more areas: Tactical and Joint C2 systems, Army Fires, Air Defense, Air Operations Center, Army Fire Controls, Networking (e.g. CCNA or CCNP), Line of Sight (LOS) communications, Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) communications, joint comms systems including Link-16, SATURN, and TTNT (and their interconnects to joint mission threads), and other areas as listed below in Highly Desirable Skills and Experience Section. This position will require working in classified spaces.

Responsibilities:

• Keep current in RF voice/data, TDL, Networking and/or digital communication technology areas and other related technologies as they evolve.
• Develop technical strategies and design solutions in support of the acquisition, integration and sustainment of networking, datalink, and radio communication products (i.e.) into their dedicated configuration or platform.
• Research, analyze, and track communication systems throughout their acquisition life cycle and monitor critical events such as program schedule, milestones, technical performance, funding, and documentation.
• Research the applicability of current and evolving technology pertinent to related avionics development programs/projects.
• Perform system, subsystem and equipment interface and integration analyses and/or trade-off studies.
• Develop experimentation test plans and work across diverse team skillets to document results of M&S, lab, and field experimentation.
• Conduct feasibility assessments, systems engineering trade studies, issue analysis and present findings to management.
• Provide technical guidance and support to facilitate developmental products through design reviews events.
• Prepare formal program materials that may include white papers, presentations, future road mapping concepts, acquisition materials, and portions of technical documents such as specifications, and technical requirements. Factor in Non-Development Items (NDI) and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) acquisition policies when developing plans.
• Monitor, and evaluate risk, cost, schedule, safety, and system performance impacts to the customer.
• Regularly communicate with customers, Division Leadership, and across program IPTs, industry, and other Department of Defense (DoD) communities.

Required Qualifications:

• Demonstrated knowledge of common Windows and Linux scripting languages (bash, PowerShell, etc)
• Demonstrated knowledge of one or more high-level programming language preferably Python.
• Experience with virtualization technologies, i.e., VMware.
• Experience with containerization technologies, e.g., Docker, Podman, Kubernetes
• Working knowledge of modern data networking standards, architectures, and protocols.
• 10 years professional engineering experience, in conducting hardware and software diagnostics/integration and working with Communication systems.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Aerospace or Systems Engineering from an ABET accredited course of study.
• US Citizen with existing Secret Security clearance or ability to get one.

Highly Desirable Skills and Experience

Candidates with one or more or ALL of the following skills and/or experience are highly desirable and sought:

• Recent relevant operational experience within the US Army Fires or Air Defense Communities
• Experience at an Air Operations Center (AOC) or Battlefield Coordination Detachment
• In-depth knowledge of Joint and Army fires and targeting processes.
• Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) certification
• In-depth knowledge of current Army fire control systems to included AFATDS and JADOCS
• In-depth knowledge of the operation and employment of joint and Army command and control (C2) systems to include GCCS-Joint/Army/ at echelons above corps up the the Joint Task Force level.
• In-depths knowledge of common tactical links (TDLs) networks at the strategic and operational level (corps and above)
