Responsibilities

The Emergency Department Unit Director is responsible for the fiscal, human resources, clinical, materials management, and communication operations of the nursing/outpatient units. The Emergency Department Unit Director's professional role description is based on ANA's Nursing Administration's Scope of Standards and UCLA's Nursing Professional Practice Model.

Salary range: $123,000.00 - $315,800.00 Annual

Qualifications

  • Bachelors and Masters Degree required, one of which must be in Nursing; Master's in Nursing preferred.
  • 3 years acute care or management experience
  • Nursing Professional Leadership (i.e. ANCC or AONE preferred)
  • Knowledge to manage disaster incidents, sentinel events and ability to problem solve with critical thinking skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and knowledge of UCLA policies
  • Skills in prioritizing
  • Ability to assess, plan, intervene and evaluate
  • Ability to inform and educate
