Position Summary

We are currently seeking experienced Unarmed Security Officers who has a desire to be successful and demonstrate great leadership skills, great organizational skills, detailed oriented, articulate and exemplifies excellent customer service.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provides security protection for all organizational facilities, its assets and personnel within areas of responsibility preventing unauthorized access, loitering, theft and intentional destruction;
  • Report and Respond to protective alarm signals or other unusual/suspicious activities or emergency situations.
  • As required, conduct defined building foot patrols interior/exterior by foot (scanning patrol points) to detect or prevent illegal/unauthorized activities and or conditions i.e broken locks or windows, missing lighting etc.
  • Monitors the flow of personnel and vehicular traffic entering and exiting the building or property.
  • Monitors personnel/tenants/visitor access control activities to verify authorized persons have valid property, drivers license or state ID cards.
  • Maintains and updates visitor logs, commercial deliveries and outside contractors entering and exiting the facility.
  • Remain alert for potential security, property or safety concerns and initiate the appropriate actions to prevent any hazards, while ensuring proper safety and security procedures are followed and property management team is immediately notified by real-time incident report and/or phone call (as directed).
  • Monitors electronic perimeter control devises and/or CCTV to detect any unauthorized entry into building/property, and where report communicates any detection to on duty senior sector supervisor.
  • Oversees the handling and reporting of emergency situations including employee injuries, to the on-duty field supervisor and duty dispatch,
  • Participates in a variety of training activities/programs designed to assure employees are capable of fulfilling their day-to-day and/or emergency response duties.
  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of all Security Operation Procedures and Security Post Orders, Use of Force Policy, written and oral, pertaining to assigned duties.
  • Maintains skilled proficiency with professional security education refresher training (8hrs annually) according to Illinois State Law (225 ILCS 447/25-20).

Skills Required

  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times in order to exceed our clients’ expectations.
  • Must be able to communicate well, both verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of security operations and procedures
  • Detail oriented and the ability to multitask
  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 30 pounds.
  • The ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, kneel, push and or pull for extended time periods
  • Work is routinely performed in office environments and in the field.
