RECRUITMENT PROCESS:

- References will be checked, however we will not cause an issue with your current employer. This is and will be a confidential process.

- There will be a couple of meets and greets with any driver that is interested in this partnership to make sure both parties are comfortable.

- Our goal is creating a long-lasting relationship with trust on both sides.

- Home time and family obligations are as important to us as they are to you as long as you understand we do have to run our business to feed our families as well.

- Pay will be based on experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

-Transport freight over the road over long distances (within continental U.S. but majority in southeast region) in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner.

-Hook and unhook trailers; secure freight; install and remove tire chains as required by weather.

-Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects/repairs to company personnel.

-Represent BS Freight and the trucking industry in a professional manner.

-1099 contracted position.

-Target mileage of 3,000 miles per week.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

-Valid Commercial A Driver’s License

-25 years of age

-Two-year previous flatbed/conestoga driving experience with clean MVR

-Knowledge of applicable DOT Regulations and Motor Carrier Safety (FMCSA) Regulations

-Meet all standards (medical, safety, etc.) required by the DOT and pass required drug/alcohol test

-Acceptable background investigation.

-Efficient communication skills to work with dispatchers, customers, and freight handlers.

-Ability to use a GPS system and link tracking systems. Ability to fill out paperwork digitally upon request. Knowledge of how to run a logbook and operate an ELD.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

-Able to be away from home for extended periods of time

-Available and able to remain alert while driving per DOT regulations

-Able to squat, crouch and reach as needed to handle freight, able to enter and exit the vehicle’s cab numerous times each day

-Able to push and pull freight at a self-selected height with a force of 150 pounds.

-Able to access and manually release fifth wheel lever and tandem pins which requires horizontal pulling with a force of 100 pounds at a height of 44 and/or 38 inches.

-Able to occasionally carry or move freight weighing up to 70 pounds.

-Able to hook and unhook trailers, and secure freight.

-Must be able to work in severe weather conditions – both heat and cold.

-Able to handle, install and remove special equipment weighing up to 110 pounds including chains, straps, tarps, tiedowns, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $0.55 - $0.65 per mile
