Michael’s House is currently seeking Full Time Treatment Coordinator responsible for the coordination of direct admissions from behavioral health hospitals and acute care hospitals. The ideal candidate will have the ability to inspire our clients’ confidence in both our staff and the MH Model of Treatment by exhibiting a high level of both knowledge and compassion. Qualifications:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assess patients for admission on behavioral health units.
  • Market Michael’s House programs directly to inpatient psych and SUD patients, social workers, nurses, administrative leaders etc. This may also include facilitating presentations and participating in conferences.
  • Initiates, explains, and completes the Referral and Intake Processes accurately.
  • Liaisons a smooth transition for patients to admit to Michael’ House.
  • Build strong relationships with hospital staff especially unit staff and social workers/case managers.
  • Gather necessary documents and complete pre-admission assessment independently.
  • Ability to use critical thinking to review patient charts to assess for appropriateness. Observes all confidentiality regulations.
  • Performs all other duties as required or assigned.
  • Comfortable navigating a high acuity psych floor independently, interacting with patients who potentially have a violent or aggressive history.
  • Knowledgeable with psych and detox behaviors and medications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must possess strong relationship building experience.
  • Ability to clinically assess patients to determine approval of admission.
  • Ability to handle entire transition of direct admission from hospitals.
  • Ability to inspire patient confidence and educate about the UHS SUD Model of Treatment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, professionalism, tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Must have strong knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Understands need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, residents, families, visitors, referral sources and all other contacts.
  • Exhibits excellent customer relation skills as evidenced by supportive and constructive communication with all contacts including coworkers, patients, residents, visitors, families and referral sources.

Education and Experience

  • Degree in nursing, psychology, social work, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a mental health or substance abuse setting, both are preferred.
  • LVN experience preferred. De-escalation training and motivational interviewing training experience is a plus.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Ability to be physically mobile; climb stairs, traverse the campus on uneven, hilly terrain.
However, long periods of sitting will be required.
  • Ability to read, write and analyze detailed and complex information.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively by telephone and email.
  • Due to the 24/7 operational demands, must be available after normal working hours and on holidays to manage emergencies that may arise.
Salary: Starting from $25.00 to $35.00 an hour
