Transportation Operator Job at Independence, Inc
Non-profit disability services provider is seeking a Transportation Operator/Driver to join our team. We offer great benefits including generous vacation, sick, discretionary and holiday pay as well as health and dental insurance for our full-time employees. Our accessible General Public Transportation service provides local rides in Lawrence and Douglas County and out-of-town medical rides to the Topeka and Kansas City areas.
Applicants must have a valid Kansas driver's license, an excellent driving record, demonstrated ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others with good verbal communication skills. Ability to pass drug screening and consent to random testing in accordance with local regulations is required. Experience as a para transit, lift-equipped vehicle operator is a plus. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of routine vehicle maintenance, CPR and First Aid training and knowledge of the Independent Living Philosophy.
