Job Summary
This position is responsible for planning and administering the field operations and maintenance functions for the county. Work involves administrative and supervisory responsibility for operations and maintenance activities of the department and personnel in accordance with overall direction provided by the County Administrator. Departmental activities and personnel assignments are as established and assigned by the Director and coordinated with engineering staff as appropriate. Work is performed in accordance with state, local and federal regulations, and directives. These guidelines require sound judgment and interpretation in application. Work requires analysis, management, coordination, and judgment in accomplishing diversified duties. Work requires the exercise of independent thinking within the limits of guidelines, policies, standards, and precedents.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, civil engineering technology, construction management or a closely related field
- Experience in the civil engineering and / or public works administration fields(s) with additional experience involving management of a variety of programs and supervision of a sizeable administration and maintenance staff
- Engineer in Training Certificate
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Soil Erosion level II Designer certification
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Ability and willingness to drive a county vehicle
- Must meet all eligibility requirements established by the Board of Commissioners
- Must be willing to submit to random drug and alcohol screening as directed
Employment is contingent on passing a mandatory Physical/Drug Screen/MVR and Background Investigation.
Salary: Annual Salary $130k to $140K; plus full benefits package
