Position Title: Training & Safety Coordinator

FLSA Status: Full time, Non-Exempt

Immediate Supervisor: Director of Operations

Position Summary:

The Training and Safety Coordinator will be responsible for evaluating our needs and current practices to create and coordinate an overall training development plan complete with materials, tutorials, instructions and learning resources for staff of the foodbank. This position will also be responsible for ensuring all employees and volunteers are working in the safest way possible while adhering to safety guidelines and regulations to help keep workplace injuries to a minimum.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

· Identify and analyze the need for training in our organization.

· Research training methods suitable for skill development.

· Develop, implements, and instructs company-wide training and safety activities including simulations٫ mentoring٫ on the job training٫ and professional development classes.

· Recruit and train qualified staff for an in-house train-the-trainer program. Maintain an effective relationship with all the trainees and trainers.

· Prepares and presents training materials or any other material such as videos, booklets, or instruction items for training.

· Arrange in-house training on necessary equipment for all new hires and annual training.

· Establishes and maintains education, training and activity files, prepares reports, and makes recommendations regarding training and safety policies and procedures to Director of Operations.

  • Contact industry experts and invite them for training sessions, if applicable.

· Keep updated on new training techniques and procedures.

  • Inform employees about available training opportunities and provide necessary information.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and liaise with matter experts regarding instructional design.
  • Manage curriculum database and training records.
  • Investigates all work-related injuries and maintains OSHA Log.

· Ability to build relationships with others.

· Ability to perform physical labor as necessary to assist in achieving HCFB Mission.

Valid Florida driver’s license.

Specific to Position:

· Associates Degree in Education, Training, or related field.

· 3 years of experience as a Training Coordinator, Training Facilitator, or a similar role.

· Knowledge and Experience of workplace safety.

· Strong working knowledge of traditional and modern job training methods.

· Proficient in MS Office and database software.

· Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

· Ability to design effective training programs.

· Strong organizational and decision-making skills.

· Ability to work in a team.

· Ability to manage and oversee multiple tasks.

· Outstanding customer service and critical thinking skills.

· Attention to detail.
