Training Assistant - HN Minimal Area Job Opportunity

Full-time position

Day hours Monday - Friday, No Nights, Weekends or Holidays

Pay starting at $16.75/hour and increased based on education and experience

Major Duties:

• To provide input and assistance in implementing formal and informal participant objectives
• Work cooperatively with other program groups within the production area space, sharing participant supervision
• To provide meaningful tasks and activities so that participants are engaged in functional activities
• Set up and carry through with tasks in ways that assist participants in increasing their independence
• Provide assistance to route driver and support participants on route
• Perform general clean up and maintenance of program and work areas
• Collect accurate program data on a daily basis
• Communicate with others regarding concerns and program progress of participants in such a way that respect and confidentiality are maintained
• Will work cooperative with other staff, agencies and family members in order to facilitate services provided
• Assists participants with eating, mobility (including lifting and transferring participants weighing up to 150 lbs), dressing, toileting and other personal needs
• Provide supervision to participants throughout the day
• Job Coaching in the community with participants at community job sites
• Provide positive, age-appropriate interaction opportunities for participants throughout the day

Minimum Qualifications:

High school degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

Six months to one year experience working with adults with developmental disabilities.
