What Learning Development and Delivery contributes to Cardinal Health

Learning develops, deploys and evaluates learning solutions to support employee development and build organizational capability in alignment to business strategies. This function analyzes learning needs and develops training curricula, technologies, and programs. This function also manages trainings provided by third-parties and partners with leaders and subject matter experts within functions and business units to deliver learning.

Learning Development and Delivery provides instructor-led trainings and manages training processes to maximize the value that employees gain from learning solutions. This job family delivers training materials including presentations, guides and manuals, and course evaluations and coordinate training schedules based on training needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements training policies and procedures across multiple sites.
  • Work with Site Leaders to develop site staff training plans
  • Ensure the number of classes scheduled for site staff training plans would meet hiring volume needs and develop appropriate employee to trainer ratio per site.
  • Serves as primary point of contact for site leaders as it relates to training program requests and cross training and upskilling opportunities across site and network.
  • Partners with Learning COE to close content gaps.
  • Provides feedback in the selection process for site trainers or individuals with a training designation.
  • Provides input into the performance evaluation of site trainers ensuring instructor feedback is shared with the site leaders to support the performance rating of the trainer.
  • Ensures all site trainers attend Train the Trainer Sessions and become certified to teach programs
  • Provides feedback during “Teach Back” sessions and on the trainer’s ability to deliver programs on site.
  • Gives final signoff on trainer certification.
  • Develops trainer division of duties to determine what is in scope for site-based training roles (Training first, business second).
  • Ensures that site trainers log training completions in the Learning Management System (mySpark) and provides monthly follow up to the Site Leader on training program metrics provided by the Learning COE as well as training completions.
  • Works with Learning COE to implement new training technologies, like Birdy, at all sites for training reinforcement.
  • Shares monthly reports on employee participation and knowledge gain with Site Leaders
  • Partners with the Learning COE on the development of professional development (training skill builders) offered by the Learning COE.
  • Ensures site trainer participation in professional development programs and in the Learning Community of Practice.
  • Supports the development and education of SMEs and other Peer Trainers by ensuring they attend development programs; monitor and evaluate peer to peer trainers.
  • Partners with the Learning COE on training program deployment.
  • Works on projects and special assignments with some oversight.
  • Creates and maintains project plans for all work assignments.
  • Works with Operational Excellence Black Belt to ensure trainers are using the current SOS documents during training.

Qualifications

  • BA, BS or equivalent experience in related field or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 4-6 years of experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience in project work preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products preferred
