Overview:
Position Title: Tower Supervisor
Classification: Full Time – Hourly
Reports To: Applicable Management
Position Summary:
The Tower Supervisor is responsible for servicing the needs of the individual airline and the associated requirements of their aircraft in accordance with the airline and JetStream’s policies and procedures for all aspects of a successful tower operation. The Tower Supervisor oversees the JetStream operation through utilization of the WorkBridge Resource Management Solutions technology. The Supervisor works closely with the tower coordinators and operation agents to optimize resource utilization. The Supervisor will encourage, build trust, respect and cooperation amount team members, thus motivating staff, individually and as a group.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coach, mentor and counsel the tower coordinators to work together for continuous development of a safe and successful on-time operation
  • Retrieval and analysis of the daily flight schedule in order to prioritize flights based on arrival time, ground time, aircraft type and stage length in and out of the station
  • Communicate to key operational personnel (lavatory & water drivers, leads and aircraft cleaners) of service requirements for individual and/or banks of flight activity
  • Oversee the maintenance of and strict adherence to shift schedules for tower personnel
  • Consultation and resolution of aircraft servicing issues and delays with airline tower personnel
  • Maintain all required documentation and ensure accuracy, timely completion and distribution at the end the shift
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned duties and report any deviations of procedures to management, including daily Shift Delay Reports and Cabin.AA billing completion percentages
  • Confer with management on workers performance appraisals and/or disciplinary actions
  • Interface with other departments to ensure that service issues are addressed and corrected to ensure quality of service
  • Develop and maintain a good rapport with airport business partners and airline personnel
  • Give immediate notification to management when anticipating or experiencing irregular operations that may impact our team members or service to our customers
  • Ensure tower agents remain up-to-date with company policies and security regulations
  • Maintain a level of professionalism that will ensure all cabin service agents remain conscientious and motivated when completing job assignments
  • Check emails multiple times daily and use email etiquette at all times
  • Other duties as assigned
Competencies:
  • Strong working knowledge of airline operations in a hub environment; airline tower experience required
  • Strong business acumen, technical learning/innovation management and a drive for results
  • Knowledgeable in Sabre Airline Solutions (StaffPlan) and/or WorkBridge Resource Management Solutions
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office software; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher
  • Ability to understand operational implications in day-to-day decisions
  • Ability to develop effective relationships at all levels
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English

Required Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2+ years of tower coordinator and/or customer service experience
Additional Requirements:
  • Possess a valid US driver’s license
  • Must pass drug screen and a 10-year FAA background check (employment/criminal)
  • Reliable method of transportation to arrive at the work location on-time
  • Willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and seek assistance from fellow team members as necessary
  • Must be able to perform in a fast paced environment while maintaining a professional and effective approach to high stress situations
  • Must be able to interact directly with customers, airline personnel and fellow team members to resolve problems and issues that may arise during the shift
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment as well as outdoors in an airport ramp environment. The employee may become exposed to the elements including but not limited to heat, rain, snow and loud noises. Hours will vary based on operational needs. Must be available to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
