POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a Tool and Die Maker to join our Manufacturing team in Indianapolis. This position is responsible for working from blueprints and sketches to create or modify prototypes, tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds.

We're offering $2000 SIGN ON BONUS for this role!!

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $ 28.46 - $ 33.19 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Follows operation instructions; operates machine according to standard operating instructions
  • Operates machine(s) safely & communicates any problems which arise to the supervisor/lead person
  • Performs complex machine setups and advanced quality inspections on most machines in assigned area
  • Performs complex tool changes, and adjustments as necessary
  • Performs troubleshooting and PM of the equipment
  • Uses of hand tools & operation of lathes, grinders, milling, boring machines, etc. to produce tools. May use Electro Discharge Machine (EDM)
  • Designs fixtures/jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts
  • Cuts and shapes blocks to specified dimensions
  • Performs precision grinding
  • Fits and assembles tools and die parts
  • Inspects finished dies and tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities
  • Conducts test runs with co.mpleted tools and dies
  • Meets production standards as set by department goals
  • Trains and develops others
  • Follows all environmental, health, & safety (EHS) policies & procedures including use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Daily 5S/housekeeping
  • Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient level skill set in the machine shop Tool & Die trade
  • Previous Tool & Die internships, apprenticeship/journeyman, education/training preferred
