Toddler & Twos Teacher for Employer Sponsored Day Care Center Job at Childport Day Care Center
Summary
Childport Day Care Center is a non-profit, employer sponsored program affiliated with Bridgeport Hospital and the Yale New Haven Health System.
Our center is open year-round, from 6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and is located one block away from the Bridgeport Hospital campus.
Childport is licensed to serve 36 children in total, ages 3 months to 5 years.
We currently have a full-time benefitted Teacher position in our Toddler & Twos classroom, working 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Toddler & Twos Teacher leads our classroom and must provide a healthy, safe, caring and nurturing environment for children between the ages of 15 months and 3 years.
Duties
The classroom teacher applies knowledge of child development and social emotional learning to develop and execute curriculum for young children
The Teacher sets up and maintains the classroom environment in an attractive, clean and safe way that promotes learning.
The Teacher is responsible for supervising classroom staff and completing parent conferences to mark children's developmental progress.
The Teacher must keep current in the field of Early Childhood Education by participating in continuing education such as reading published materials, taking part in trainings/workshops and participating in professional development associations.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree
2 -3 years' experience working with young children - preferably young Toddlers.
Interested candidates must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask well.
Interested candidates must be able to communicate, listen and work well with other adults including parents.
Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
Must clear background check and pass health screening.
Must follow all Childport Day Care Center and Yale New Haven Health System policies and procedures, as well as CT daycare licensing regulations.
Nice To Haves
Supervisory experience is a plus.
OEC approved CPR/First Aid/Med administration training.
Familiarity with the CTELDS.

Employees hired to work at Childport are technically Bridgeport hospital employees. They are hired through Bridgeport Hospital/Yale New Haven Health system and assigned to work in our daycare department.
