Job Summary

The Tile Installer will be a part of the remodeling team. In this position, you follow the tiling installation process from start to finish. You use both power and hand tools. Our ideal candidate has experience with both flooring installation and concrete work and has completed an apprenticeship. Carpentry experience is a plus.

Duties/Responsibilities – Including, but not limited to:

  • Cut and shape tiles to ensure they fit around obstacles and in tight corners.
  • Form tile beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue, and or mortar.
  • Properly using tools such as screeds, brushes, and trowels.
  • Align tiles and straighten them with straightedges, levels, and squares to ensure patterns are consistent and precise.
  • Cut, install, polish, and surface tiles and ensure accuracy during the installation process for lasting results.
  • Prepare various surfaces for tiling with waterproof material or lath.
  • Create decorative wall and floor designs by laying and setting mosaic tiles in the kitchen, bathrooms, and dining rooms.
  • Set tiles efficiently without causing damage.
  • Follow blueprints precisely and produce accurate finished work.
  • Mark and measure surfaces that will be tiled and determine the best course of action for efficient job completion.
  • Must be willing to complete on-the-job training.

Education and Experience:

  • Experience in tile setting
  • Carpentry and renovation experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with concrete and flooring is a plus.
  • Construction background preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift 75-100 pounds, requires standing, walking, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling and routine lifting/carrying.
  • Climb ladders and working at various heights.
  • Repetitive hand movements when constantly using tools. May use goggles and gloves occasionally when around or moving hot equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
