Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented mid-level Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), thermal, and aerodynamics modeling engineer. In this role you will support the Missile Defense Agency Targets and Countermeasures Directorate (MDA/TC) Reactive Target Simulation (RTS) team. The RTS team develops and evaluates models and simulations of the latest hypersonic vehicle concepts for MDA and other OSD stakeholders. You will work with a growing, highly talented team to assess vehicle designs and produce data products which will inform analyses and leadership decisions at the working and executive levels. You’ll also have the opportunity to broaden your skills in a multitude of engineering disciplines including trajectory optimization, Guidance Navigation and Control, subsystem packaging, etc.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Produce CFD, thermal, and aerodynamic results for emerging hypersonic vehicles

• Produce aerodynamic coefficients for hypersonic systems

• Perform independent evaluation of performance and mission utility of promising hypersonic concepts

• Produce comparisons of between multiple modeling tool suites

• Leverage results to influence hypersonic vehicle design and produce robust , highly capable hypersonic systems

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelors Degree in STEM and 5+ years of experience

• Active Secret Security clearance

• Expertise in CFD, thermal, and aerodynamic modeling

• Demonstrated proficiency with at least one hypersonic aerodynamic prediction tool, such as: CB Aero, CART3D, Kestrel, US3D
  

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Proficiency in MATLAB, Finite Element codes, LINUX, Python

• Ability to work independently

• Enthusiasm and capacity to learn in a fast-paced environment

• Experience anchoring simulation results with ground/flight test datasets

• Active Top Secret SCI Security clearance

Salary Range:

$92,200.00 - $161,400.00
